Bar, Rod and Plate stock
Normally Zinc. but some can be had
in Aluminium or Magnesium.

Bar stock for machining is of
two types. Smaller sizes to 1 1/4"
diameter are extruded. This is more
expensive but the diameter is accurate and the metal is free from porosity.
. . Cast bar, available from 5/8" to
6" and 20 to 150mm. diameter is
nominal size with a rougher finish.

Plate stock is cast, flat on the base but less so
on the top. The usual size is 158 x 260mm but
